A North Carolina man has filed a lawsuit against Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Fletcher Cox, claiming Cox damaged his marriage.
According to TMZ, the man, Joshua, says he has evidence that Cox pursued his wife in April while she was in Philadelphia on a work trip. The suit claims the two stayed in touch afterward through text messages and social media, and it includes messages Joshua says Cox sent to her. Joshua also claims his wife blocked him on Instagram. These are the claims made in the lawsuit, and none of them have been proven in court.
The suit is based on alienation of affection, a claim allowed under North Carolina law when a spouse can show their marriage was loving and that the actions of a third party destroyed it. Joshua is seeking more than $25,000 in damages.
TMZ’s report did not include a response from Cox.
