Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel stated Wednesday, that he does not expect the NFL to punish him for his actions in a recent domestic incident with his girlfriend.
Back on October 12th, Manziel was questioned but not charged by police in Avon, Ohio following a roadside argument with his girlfriend. Currently the NFL is investigating if Manziel violated the personal conduct policy. He could face a fine, suspension or ban if the league feels he broke any rules.
The nature of the “domestic incident” has not been released but under the NFL’s conduct policy, punishable violations include:
• Actual or threatened physical violence against another person, including dating violence, domestic violence, child abuse, and other forms of family violence.
• Conduct that poses a genuine danger to the safety and well-being of another person.
There’s no denying Manziel’s personal and professional life has been widely discussed since he entered the league, however, he insists he’s changed. ”I have changed and adapted my lifestyle incredibly since last year.”
While I can not say whether Manziel will receive any type of punishment, I can agree he’s been under a microscope since day one.
