Amid the backlash over Meek Mill’s harsh sentence for violating probation, the rapper’s judge has been ordered to decide his fate “without further delay.”

In new documents obtained by TMZ, Meek’s legal team tried to go around Judge Genece Brinkley, who has been under fire for alleged malpractice in the harsh 2-4 year sentence, to get the rapper released from prison. Although Meek’s request for immediate release was denied by the high court, the court put the pressure on Brinkley to decide on a bail hearing immediately.

A rep for the rapper told the publication that they were pleased with the actions of the higher court, saying, “We’re pleased that the Superior Court took immediate action to direct the Court of Common Pleas to decide on the application for bail without further delay. We remain hopeful that Mr. Williams will be promptly released on bail.”
