After Wednesday’s report that Eric Garner’s daughter, Erica, had suffered “major brain damage” from a massive heart attack, New York Daily News reports that the daughter of the NYPD chokehold victim has been listed as brain dead with no chance of recovery.
Just five days after the heart attack that led to cardiac arrest, which was triggered by an asthma attack, family members of the young activist have been called to Woodhull Hospital to say their final goodbyes to Erica, just three years after laying her father to rest.
As Erica remains on life support, her mother says “Physically, she is still with us.”
“She’s not gone,” Garner’s mother explained. “She’s brain dead.”
