On Sunday, Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced that they had officially welcomed Johnny Manziel to the Canadian Football League and offered him a contract. ⠀⠀⠀
After being plagued with substance abuse violations, assault allegations, and suspensions during his career in the NFL, Manziel now has other opportunities to explore. Back in July, the baller revealed that he was ready to hit the field again, and with new negotiations on the table that may be happening sooner than later.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“As per the negotiation list process, Johnny Manziel and his agent recently notified the Tiger-Cats that they had activated the 10-day window during which the Tiger-Cats must offer him a contract or lose his negotiation list rights,” the team said in a statement of their new player. “That window closed today and we can confirm that we made an offer to Manziel and that his rights will remain on our negotiation list while discussions with him and his agent continue. We will have no further comment.”

An opening became available on the team earlier this month after The Tiger-Cats traded Zach Collaros. However, amid the news of his new offer, Manziel took the time to shade his former team for not picking him back up. “0-16szn,” Manziel captioned his photo on Instagram, which pictured himself in a Browns jersey.
