Reward Offered In The Death Of 9-Year Old Tyshawn Lee

9 year old Tyshawn Lee of Chicago was fatally shot and police need your help looking for who’s responsible.

Police believe Tyshawn’s death was gang related. They say Tyshawn was lured, targeted and killed in retaliation for several recent gang murders in the area and that Tyshawn’s father may have more information, but is not coming forward with it.

Tyshawn was shot several times in an alley near his grandmother’s house at close range. Mayor Rahm Emanuel spoke on the tragedy saying, “This person is not an individual. They’re not a human being. When you do what you’ve done to a 9-year-old, there’s a place for you. There is no humanity in that place.”

Tyshawn’s mother took the incident especially hard, sleeping in the alley where her young child was gunned down. “She was calling his name, screaming out, calling for Tyshawn to come to her. After so long, she got up and started walking back this way,” said Bertha Lee, Tyshawn’s grandmother. 

A $35,000 reward has been offered to find Tyshawn’s killer. Anyone with information is asked to call Chicago police at 312-747-8271.
