After reports of multiple accusations of sexual misconduct against Russell Simmons, Oprah Winfrey has axed Simmons from her spirituality book “The Wisdom of Sundays.”
Winfrey and her publisher Flatiron Books disclosed the news to The New York Times on Wednesday.⠀⠀⠀
The book, which was first published October 2017, is a collection of excerpts from Winfrey’s sit-downs with her guests for her OWN network series “Super Soul Sunday.”
Simmons’ excerpt was about the impact of meditation, however, those excerpts will now not be included in the book which drops in stores next month.
For months there have been sexual misconduct allegations surfacing about Simmons. Just a week ago one of his accusers, Jennifer Jarosik, reportedly filed a $5 million lawsuit against Simmons for an alleged 2016 rape incident.
At least 12 women have made such accusations, some of them even sharing their stories on “Megyn Kelly Today” last week.

Simmons has publicly denied the allegations while the New York Police Department has said that they are “reviewing information” about the allegations.

Similar to Winfrey’s decision, “Shark Tank” judge Daymond John also removed Simmons from a chapter of his motivational book “Rise and Grind.”
