Former Yankee starting pitcher Esteban Loaiza was has been arrested for allegedly smuggling cocaine and heroin.
Friday at 6 p.m., police arrested Loaiza while he was in San Diego under suspicion of possession and transportation of narcotics; and according to police documents, they found him with over 20 kilograms of cocaine and heroin. Loaiza’s drugs totaled out to about 44 pounds of narcotics which have a selling value of $500,000.
Loaiza is being held in South Bay’s Detention Facility with a $200,000 bail. He will have court on Wednesday and faces felony charges of possessing and transporting a controlled substance with intent to sell.

Loaiza, 46, is a Mexico native and dedicated himself to 14 seasons in the major leagues. He’s pitched for several teams such as the Pirates, Blue Jays, White Sox, and the Dodgers. His years as a pro ball player earned him $43.7 million.
