According to TMZ, Charlotte Hornets rookie Malik Monk was involved in an accident early Sunday morning.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The accident occurred around 5:46 Am near the University of Arkansas when Monk drove his 2002 Lexus off the road and crashed into a gate.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Upon arrival, Monk told officials that the accident happened fast after he “looked down for a second” and hit a bump. As a result, the rookie was hit with a citation for careless driving and no proof of insurance.

It remains unclear if the baller was injured in the wreck, but the car was pretty banged up and towed to a nearby impound lot, TMZ reports. However, the Hornets are off until Thursday.
