A Kentucky elementary school teacher was arrested after two students told authorities they saw her crush and snort a pill at her classroom desk, according to the New York Post.
The teacher, identified in reports as Cherish, was arrested after the students made the report. The students told police they saw her crush a pill with a credit card, form a line with the powder and snort it. They also said she slumped over her desk afterward and seemed to have trouble staying awake.
Police said officials who responded found white residue on her desk and a plastic applicator on her person that they said resembled a small, cut straw. Authorities also reportedly noted that her pupils appeared dilated.
She was booked at Montgomery County Jail on charges of public intoxication, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, and she was placed on leave from the school pending an investigation. These are charges, not convictions. We did not see a public comment from her in the reports.
