New Trend Flaunts Diamond Dermal Piercings Instead Of Engagement Rings

Couples aren’t taking the traditional route to anything anymore, including the way they pick and wear engagement rings.  A new trend has started with engaged couples to get diamond studs embedded into their ring finger, instead of getting traditional engagement rings.

No more circular rings, now just get the whole dermal embedded into your ring finger and you never have to worry about losing it when you go to the bathroom or anything like that. If you’ve never gotten one of these piercings before, its an excruciating process for some.  The tattoo artist cleans it and then uses a tool to remove a small patch of the skin before inserting an anchor made of gold or titanium to actually hold the gem in place.

The piercing itself costs about $100, but you have to buy the diamond separately.

Doctors are not saying this may be the best alternative to engagement rings because something like this can be a very dangerous procedure and can take up to 20 weeks to heal.

I guess it’s like getting your husband or wife’s name tattooed on you.

Are you down for this trend?
