Just five weeks after its release, the film has smashed record after record to become one of the best selling films in US history.

Now, Ryan Coogler’s Box office hit is set to surpass the $1.2148 billion global gross mark previously set by “Iron Man 3” by the end of the weekend. The marker will make the African themed film the highest grossing super hero film ever internationally.

Many viewers of the film are particularly excited about its success, given the fact that it is lead by a nearly all-black cast. Viewers have took to social sites to share their satisfaction with the representation that the film provides particularly for women and people of color.
