As Netflix moves forward in developing its new animated “Carmen Sandiego” series, the powerhouse streaming service has also ordered a live-action feature film about the fictional thieving villain.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Golden Globe winner and “Jane the Virgin” star, Gina Rodriguez is set to star in the popular ‘90s franchise film for Netflix, as the thief and nemesis of the ACME detection agency.

In fact, the film will also be produced by her own production company, I Can and I Will productions. If that wasn’t enough, Rodriguez will also play the globe-trotting thief in the animated series, which is set to be released next year.
