The Guardian reported that a former girlfriend of R. Kelly made new allegations about the singer in a BBC Three documentary set to air on March 28, 2018. Kelly has denied past allegations of sexual misconduct, and his team had not commented on these new claims at the time of this report.
In the documentary, Kitti Jones, who says she was in a relationship with Kelly, claims he groomed her to become one of his “pets.” Jones also says she was introduced to a young woman whom, she claims, Kelly said he had “trained” since the age of 14. According to Jones, she noticed the woman dressed and spoke like her, and that is when she says she realized what was happening to her. These are Jones’s claims, and they have not been proven.
The new allegations follow earlier reports. In July 2017, BuzzFeed News reported accusations that Kelly controlled a group of young women, which he and his representatives have denied. Jerhonda Pace, another woman who has spoken publicly about Kelly, told the hosts of The Real that she was introduced to a woman she described as a “trainer,” and she alleged that Kelly physically harmed her. Kelly has denied these allegations as well.
