Tyrese Gibson and his wife Samantha Gibson are expecting their first child together, and according to PEOPLE, it’s a girl!

“Both of our love and energy and magic and families are bonded forever because we’re going to have this child,” Gibson said in an interview with PEOPLE. “It’s unbelievable.”

The two jumped the broom back in 2017 in a surprise Valentine’s Day ceremony, 11 months later, Samantha learned she was pregnant with their baby girl.

“It was me screaming and just being overly excited and just fired up about the news,” Gibson said, as he recalled finding out about the new baby. “There was no greater reaction than her mom’s reaction. Samantha is her only daughter, and this has been prayers for years and years, for her to get married and find the right one and start a family.”

Although Gibson has a 10-year-old daughter, Samantha says Shayla has “been asking for siblings since I’ve known her,” so there shouldn’t be any beef between the two baby Gibsons. In fact, the situation seems to be a new beginning of sorts for the singer, as it comes on the heels of his custody battle with his ex-wife, which led to Gibson’s infamous social media meltdown. But now, with all the custody drama behind them, the Gibsons are ready to grow their family.
