Trey Songz will reportedly not face felony charges in the domestic violence case that followed NBA All Star Weekend.
According to TMZ, the L.A. District Attorney is not convinced the incident happened the way the accuser described it, so the felony case will not move forward.
Back in March, a woman named Andrea accused Trey of punching her during NBA All Star Weekend in February, claiming the incident left her with a concussion. Days later, Trey turned himself in to officials to cooperate with the investigation. He has maintained his innocence and has said the claims are not true.
TMZ reports that Trey’s lawyer gave officials several witness statements that differed from Andrea’s initial account. The lawyer also reportedly provided information that raised questions about her version of events.
As a result, TMZ reports the case will be referred to the L.A. City Attorney, who will decide whether Trey faces a misdemeanor charge over the alleged assault.
