No one goes into a relationship thinking it’s going to end but certain situations happen that cause the two to part ways. Depending on what caused the relationship to end, determines the next step or how you deal with one another, especially when children are involved.
How many times have we seen couples break up or divorce one another and ask for the ex to continue paying for the lifestyle they were introduced to? For example, if a woman is used to her spa days, going shopping on certain days, driving expensive cars, and eating at expensive restaurants, she is more than likely going to want to continue living like she did when she was once with her ex.
Depending on who you ask, some will say that the ex should continue to pay for the expenses, while others will say that she needs a job. I do not agree with someone paying for someone to continue living outside of “their” means. Now that the relationship is over, why should someone have to pay to keep you looking like money?
If we are talking about someone who was once married for more than a decade, then they absolutely deserve spousal support. Now what you do with the money is on you. The best decision is to invest the money into a business of your own, so you won’t have to rely on someone else’s income that you are no longer with. At some point, those checks will stop. When they do stop, what are you going to do then?
At times, I feel that SOME women use it as an excuse to not work. Keyword in the last sentence is “Some,” which makes it difficult for others to believe their motives.
If you want to keep up with the lifestyle that you want, then you should put yourself in a position that will allow you to continue living the way you want. Is that not fair?
Do you believe a man should continue paying for his ex’s lifestyle after the relationship is over? Keep in mind how you would feel if the roles were reversed.
