Looks like Kevin Hart can officially put the drama of his cheating scandal to rest, as the extortionist who outed him has been arrested. Problem is, the man behind the scandal was close to the comedian.

According to The @Blast, the suspect, Jonathan Todd Jackson, was deeply involved with Hart’s entourage. Although sources tell the publication he wasn’t exactly a friend, they say he was a close trusted associate to the comedian and several other big-name celebrities in Hollywood. TMZ reports the two have been cool for over 15 years. In fact, Jackson landed a role in one of Hart’s movies sometime during their friendship and even attended his bachelor party.

But now, Jackson’s Hollywood lifestyle has come to an abrupt end as he has been arrested and charged with one count each of attempted extortion and extortion by threatening letter.

“Jackson is accused of trying to extort an undisclosed amount of money from Hart between Aug. 25 and Aug. 30, 2017. Jackson allegedly had a videotape of the actor with a woman in Las Vegas and then is accused of trying to sell the recording to numerous celebrity news websites,” the District Attorney revealed in a press release.

If convicted, Jackson faces a possible maximum sentence of four years behind bars. He is currently being held on $100,000 bail.

As for Kevin Hart, he’s completely taken aback by the actions of someone close to him. In fact, he addressed the news, saying, “Mind blown….Hurt….at a lost for words and simply in complete disbelief at the moment. Wow.”
