Jay-Z and Eminem Go After The Weinstein Company For Over $800,000 In Unpaid Fees For Their Respective Collaborations

Back in March, in the wake of the several dozen sexual harassment and assault claims brought forth against Harvey Weinstein, the Weinstein Company filed for bankruptcy and ended all of its nondisclosure agreements used to silence its former boss’ victims.

At the time, the company also released a 394-page list of people owed by the company, including several former production partners, actors, and facilities. But, with the bankruptcy, the creditors were put on the backburner, with many of Weinstein’s sexual misconduct victims, as well as the former first daughter, Malia Obama, who interned at the company over the summer.

Despite the filing though, there are a few celebrities that are interested in getting there cut sooner than later.  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

In new court documents obtained by The @Blast, Hip-Hop superstars #JayZ and #Eminem say they have unfinished business with the company as neither party was paid for the work they put into certain projects with TWC.

As for Jay, the Brooklyn-bred rap star says the company skipped out on a few payments for the Kalief Browder and Trayvon Martin films they collaborated on. Although the company previously claimed they didn’t owe for the Browder project, Jay claims the company owes him over $480,000 between the two projects.

In Eminem’s case, the Detroit-bred rapper says he was never paid for a soundtrack he produced with the company. In his court docs, he says he agreed to create a song and produce a soundtrack for “South Paw” back in 2015, but he has yet to be paid in full for his work. In fact, Eminem’s team has been demanding payment since October of 2017 but still has yet to receive anything.
