Ex-Basketball Wives star Gloria Govan has filed a lawsuit against her ex-husband and former baller, Matt Barnes, over claims that she stole money from him during their marriage. ⠀
In court documents obtained by The @Blast, Govan cites a recent confrontation between the two that occurred on social media after a surprise “Happy Birthday” post from her baby daddy turned into a shady back and forth between ex-lovers.

Govan says when the two were married, they lived together, shared bank accounts and had property in both their names. However, she claims she’s been able to make her own money from her role as an original Basketball Wife, as well as other television gigs that have catapulted her celebrity, outside of Barnes. But, she says, since their divorce and custody battle, Barnes has made several comments and false statements about her in the media, including his claim that she stole money from their joint accounts to buy homes for her parents.

In the court docs, she also cites Barnes’ claims that she forged his signature on business transactions, withheld his kids from her and misused child support money, all of which she says is completely false.

As a result, she is suing for unspecified damages for embarrassment, humiliation and ruining her reputation.

In turn though, Barnes filed docs to have the suit tossed because everything he said was his opinion. He also claims Govan signed up to be a public figure, so is automatically subject to be tried by the court of public opinion.
