Philly’s own #MeekMill made a guest appearance on Sports Illustrated’s Crossover TV and discussed his relationship with New England Patriots owner, Robert Kraft. The two were spotted court-side during Game 2 of the Boston Celtics vs 76ers game along with #GucciMane.

“I was telling Gucci, ‘Robert a real dude, man.’ Seriously, though, he came to visit me in jail and he spoke out for me. He has a lot of influence and what-not. He’s the real deal,” Meek said.

Two weeks prior to his release on April 24, Kraft visited Meek in prison and showed mutual respect when describing him as an “amazing young man”.

During the interview, Meek also revealed that while he was in prison, he received phone calls from Houston Rockets star James Harden three or four times a week.

Since his release, Meek has appeared on many major media outlets and has been expressing the need to revamp the justice system in Pennsylvania. Meek has also been working with the governor of Pennsylvania, who is proposing legislation to address these issues and others similar to his case.
