SAG Considers Revoking Morgan Freeman’s Lifetime Achievement Award: It’s “Our Starting Point To Believe The Courageous Voices Who Come Forward to Report Incidents of Harassment”

And so it begins.

Just hours after CNN published an article detailing allegations of inappropriate behavior and/or harassment at the hands of  #MorganFreeman, the actor is already facing the consequences of his alleged actions.

According to TMZ, four months after receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Screen Actors Guild, a rep for the organization says his honor may be on the line in the wake of the allegations.

“These are compelling and devastating allegations which are absolutely contrary to all the steps that we are taking to ensure a safe work environment for the professionals in this industry,” the rep said, adding that the board will be reviewing what “corrective actions” might be needed.

Although, according to TMZ, SAG says the actor has the right to due process, they also say it’s “our starting point to believe the courageous voices who come forward to report incidents of harassments.”

In the meantime, despite the allegations of the eight women who claim to be victims of harassment or sexual misconduct by the actor, he denied “intentionally” offending anyone.
