Although J Prince has encouraged Drake to wave the white flag in his longstanding beef with Pusha T, the CEO of Rap-A-Lot Records says the rapper is still locked and loaded with a track that would end both Pusha T and Kanye West’s careers. But, if he can help it, in an effort to keep the peace, the record will never see the light of day.
In an interview with “Sway in the Morning,” Prince shared his thoughts on the lyrical back and forth between the two rappers. Although he appreciates a rap beef, he said lines were crossed when names were dropped on the records. From Drake saying Pusha’s fiancée’s name in “Duppy Freestyle” to Pusha speaking on Drake’s mother, father, best friend, alleged son and baby mama on the “Story of Adidon,” Prince said the next move would be detrimental. But, he said he doesn’t want it to go that far, in fact, he said neither does Kanye.
“After speaking with Kanye, I spoke with the brother….and he didn’t want this” Prince said. ‘I saw this going to a place that I feel would have ended his career if Drake would’ve put out this song that he had on him. It definitely would’ve hurt families and we’re not in it for that. That’s not Drake’s character to tear a man down to that extent.”
“Oh, no doubt about it…the ingredients were overwhelming,” he continued. “I know for a fact that it would’ve been bad for Kanye and my man [Pusha T]. It wouldn’t have been good, it’s beyond music at this point. It’s gonna affect the livelihood, it’s gonna interfere with his entire lifestyle from that day forward.”
What are your thoughts? Do you think there is a record? If there is, do you believe it has the power to end Kanye West’s career?
