On Monday, actress Rose McGowan was indicted on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance, stemming from an incident that occurred in January 2017.
At the time, McGowan was on her way to the Women’s March when she misplaced her wallet upon her arrival at the Washington Dulles International Airport in Virginia. However, when the wallet was finally located, cocaine was found inside.
As a result, the actress was arrested and now has been charged in the incident. Despite the recent indictment though, McGowan maintains her innocence. In fact, in docs filed by the actress’ lawyer, she suggests the drugs were planted at the behest of her alleged attacker, Harvey Weinstein.

“Rose steadfastly maintains her innocence,” McGowan’s lawyer, Jose Baez said in a statement to Fox News. “These charges would have never been brought if it weren’t for her activism as a voice for women everywhere. I assure you, this selective prosecution will be met with a strong defense.”
