On June 19, 17-year-old Antwon Rose Jr. was shot and killed by a Pennsylvania police officer as he fled the scene of a traffic stop.Â
In the incident, officials stopped a car that reportedly fit the description of one that was seen at the scene of a shooting that occurred earlier that day. Upon arrival, officials say they handcuffed the driver but the two passengers, including Rose, fled the scene, prompting Officer Michael Rosfeld to unload several shots.
Rose was unarmed and hit three times, but officials say they found two firearms in the car. To make matters worse, the police car was not equipped with cameras and the officers were not wearing body cameras. However, the incident was captured on camera by a bystander.Â

As a result, Rosefeld was placed on administrative leave and has since been charged with criminal homicide. Although the details remain unclear, criminal homicide can include murder, voluntary manslaughter and involuntary manslaughter under Pennsylvania law, CNN reports.Â
