Boise, Idaho police have arrested a man accused of stabbing nine people, including six children, at a birthday party for a three year old girl on Saturday.
According to police, the suspect, 30 year old Timmy, had been staying briefly at the Wylie Street apartment complex and was asked to leave on Friday because of his behavior. Police say he returned Saturday and attacked the party. Nine people were hurt, including the birthday girl, five other children ages 4 to 12, and adults who tried to protect them.
Timmy was arrested and charged with nine counts of aggravated battery and six counts of injury to a child. Police said at the time that all of the victims were alive, though some had serious injuries. No motive had been established, and police said they knew of no provocation.
The complex is home to many resettled refugee families, CBS News reports. Police say the suspect is not a refugee. Boise Police Chief William Bones described the attack as the act of “a single evil individual” and said it does not represent the city.
The charges are accusations, and Timmy is presumed innocent. Court records at the time did not include a statement from him.
