Brandy Norwood To Be Series Regular On Lee Daniels’ “Star”

It looks like we’ll be seeing a lot more of #BrandyNorwood on “Star” as she’s been picked up to be a series regular.

In the show, Norwood plays “Cassie Brown,” sister to the main character “Carlotta,” who looks sweet but is actually gang-affiliated. “Star” is co-created by #LeeDaniels and #TomDonaghy, and tells the story of a three-member girl group that is navigating through the music industry to reach stardom. The drama-series is executive produced by Daniels, Donaghy, Pamela Oas Williams, and Karin Gist who also acts as showrunner.

According to Deadline, Season 3 is set to be jam-packed with Cassie and Carlotta going head-to-head fighting for control over the Atlanta-based music scene. Norwood is a multi-Platinum, Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter and actress. “Star” isn’t her first rodeo with acting. She’s been featured in other roles like “Cinderella,” “The Game” and “I Still Know What You Did Last Summer.”
