Demi Lovato is in “stable” condition following an overdose of heroin.
On Tuesday (July 24), Lovato was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital after suffering from an overdose. Authorities say “they responded to a medical emergency” located in the Hollywood Hills. There they “transported a 25-year-old female patient to a local hospital.”⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
TMZ reports that when Lovato was taken to the hospital she was unconscious and needed the emergency medication Narcan to be revived. While TMZ reports the overdose was connected to heroine, people close to Lovato say those reports are false.

Lovato has been dealing with addiction, mental illness and eating disorders for several years. She was treated for bipolar disorder, bulimia, self-harm and addiction back in 2010 when she underwent rehabilitation, according to People.com.

She then went to a sober living facility for a year after relapsing. A source close to Lovato says, “Demi was never really clean and sober from all of her demons. She has been fighting depression and anxiety for quite some time — and is still in such a dark place. She was sober for a while, but not completely sober for six years.”
