Lamar Odom wants his fans to know that he’s “OK” following a shooting incident that recently took place at a local Hooters restaurant in Queens, NY.
According to Page Six, last Thursday morning, Odom and his friends were seated at an outdoor table before members of his entourage got into an altercation with another group around 12:30 a.m. Witnesses reportedly told police that a man from the other group pulled out a handgun during the incident and fired multiple shots in the air before fleeing the scene.
On Wednesday night, the former NBA All-Star posted a message to his Instagram thanking his followers for their concern and support.
”I want to let my fans know that I am OK. Thanks for your messages I will try to respond to as many fans I can,” he wrote to his 380k-plus followers. “Just to share the ‘truth’ here with you all. I was near the scene when it just happened and not involved in any way!”
Odom is not accused of any wrongdoing and has been cooperating with police, according to TMZ. The 38-year-old’s attorney, Saam Zangeneh tells site, “Lamar did nothing wrong and was not arrested. He’s a law abiding citizen and he did his best to answer all the questions the police had for him.”
NYPD is currently searching for the shooter. No arrests have been made.
