A lab report from the 2001 South Carolina case involving radio host Charlamagne Tha God has surfaced, according to The Blast, which says it obtained the results of the forensic testing.
Here is the background. In 2001, Charlamagne was accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl. Reports at the time said he pleaded guilty to contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and that prosecutors dismissed the remaining charge, citing the accuser’s absence and a lack of available evidence. Charlamagne has long denied the rape allegation.
Seventeen years later, the woman who made the accusation has publicly asked for the case to be looked at again. She said she was never told the results of testing connected to her rape kit and believes they could matter.
According to The Blast, a Forensic Services Lab Report shows no semen was found on oral, vaginal or rectal swabs, and no evidence was found under her fingernails. The report has not been independently verified by Baller Alert, and the lack of that evidence does not by itself settle what happened.
Charlamagne has said he cooperated with the investigation and maintains his innocence. It was not clear whether authorities would take any further action.
