Nearly eight months after Omarosa Manigault was reportedly fired and physically removed from the White House, the former senior staff and assistant to the Celebrity-in-Chief is finally spilling the tea on her tumultuous 7-month tenure inside the presidential residence.
In a new tell-all book, titled “Unhinged: An Insider’s Account of the Trump White House,” Manigault reveals that she noticed a “mental decline” in Trump, during her time in the White House.
In fact, she recalled the very moment she realized something “real and serious” was wrong with the president.
“While watching the [Lester Holt] interview I realized that something real and serious was going on in Donald’s brain,” she said. “His mental decline could not be denied.”
“Donald rambled,” Manigault wrote, as she continued her recollection of Trump’s 2017 NBC interview. “He spoke gibberish. He contradicted himself from one sentence to the next.”
“Throughout this erratic and contradictory interview, I kept thinking, ‘Oh no! Oh no! This is bad!” she said, adding, “Hope [Hicks, then communications direcotr] had gone over the briefing with him a dozen times hitting the key point that he had fired [James] Come based on the recommendation by the [Department of Justice],” but instead, Trump contradicted the report, saying he had been planning to give Comey the boot.
According to the Daily Mail, Manigault’s seven-figure book deal comes seven months after her dramatic exit from the White House.
“Their relationship has spanned fifteen years-through four television shows, a presidential campaign, and a year by his side in the most chaotic, outrageous White House in history,” the publisher, Gallery Books, wrote of Manigault’s work. “But that relationship has come to a decisive and definitive end, and Omarosa is finally ready to share her side of the story in this explosive, jaw-dropping account.”
