Dallas Cowboys Quarterback Dak Prescott Reaffirms His Disapproval Of Kneeling During The National Anthem: “I Feel Strongly About What I Said”

Dallas Cowboys Quarterback #DakPrescott wants to make it clear that the field “isn’t the place” for “silent protests.”

The owners of the Dallas Cowboys, #JerryJones and son #StephenJones, have been adamant about their feelings towards players kneeling during the national anthem. The family pair say they expect each player to stand, regardless of the NFL’s new rule allowing team members to stay in the locker room while the song is sung if they choose to.

While that may be a disappointment to many, Prescott says he totally supports his owner’s views. Back in July, the star quarterback expressed his views on the protest saying, “I never protest during the anthem. I don’t think that’s the time or the venue to do so. The game of football has always brought me such a peace, and I think it does for a lot of people watching the game. So when you bring such controversy to the stadium, to the field, it takes away from the love that football brings to a lot of people.”

He added: “I’m not naïve. I’m very aware of the social injustice that we have going on. But I’m about the action that we can do, rather than the silent protests.” His words gained him much criticism, but on Sunday, he made it clear his thoughts are here to stay. “I made my statements. I stand by what I said,” Prescott said. “Some people might have misunderstood or whatever, but I know what I said, and I feel strongly about what I said. It is what it is.”
