Drake is now the first artist to ever cross the 50 billion mark for streaming across all global streaming platforms.
The new record comes shortly after it was confirmed the Canadian rapper gained a billion streams in a week – breaking one-day records on both Apple and Spotify. The news was confirmed by Republic Records Media, which represents Young Money, Cash Money and Republic.
Now five weeks later, Drake’s album #Scorpion is still at the top of Billboard’s Top 200 list. His single “In My Feelings” also still sits on Billboard’s Hot 100 for the fourth consecutive week.
Last month, Apple said Drake passed 10 billion lifetime streams. However, Forbes reports that streams are difficult to independently verify. Spotify’s number of chart-eligible streams may surpass 13 billion streams. Some speculate that Drake may have even more than 50 billion.
