Redskins’ Josh Norman Says The NFL Shouldn’t “Do a F**king Thing” In Response To Trump’s Comments About Anthem Protests

Washington Redskins cornerback Josh Norman says NFL teams shouldn’t “do a f**king thing” in response to Donald Trump’s bullying tactics over the league’s national anthem policy.

Norman shared his candid sentiments in a new story published on The Ringer, where he opened up on how the league’s global influence will surpass Trump’s tenure in the White House.

“You continue to do what you do, because guess what. You have a product, and that product is f**king banking. It’s the no. 2 product in the world outside of soccer—you cannot beat it,” he said. “Those checks will keep coming regardless of what you do. I wouldn’t tell them to do a f**king thing. This guy is going to be out of office in two years. I think we’ll be OK. Trust me: The accounts will be fine.”

Last week, Trump renewed his attack on the NFL after a number of players protested during the kickoff of the league’s preseason.

“The NFL players are at it again – taking a knee when they should be standing proudly for the National Anthem,” he tweeted. “Numerous players, from different teams, wanted to show their ‘outrage’ at something that most of them are unable to define.” Since then, a South Florida police union is urging its members to boycott the Miami Dolphins football after some players protested the national anthem during last week’s preseason opener.

The Redskins star defensive back went on to add that the league shouldn’t be concerned about potential boycotts due to Trump’s verbal attacks.

“I wouldn’t put emphasis on it. Because the fans are going to come,” he said. “It’s not like you’ve got scabs on the field like in 1987. So what if it’s a down year? Who gives a f**k? Next year you’ll be great. It’s not going to catastrophically disappear because one guy said something.”

Do you agree with Josh Norman’s comments?
