Greg Hardy Talks “Guns Blazing”, Tom Brady’s Wife, & Playing for The Cowboys In Return to the NFL – blogged by @LoveRubyWoo

Dallas Cowboys’ Greg Hardy will finally be making his return to the NFL this Sunday after being placed on the exempt list for the majority of the 2014 season and serving a four-game suspension this season. The former Carolina Panther, who was released by his old team and picked up by the Cowboys during the offseason, just completed his punishment from the NFL due to a domestic violence incident that happened in May 2014. To bring you up to speed, Hardy was arrested for assaulting ex-girlfriend Nicole Holder –  according to her, he threw her on a couch covered with rifles, dragged her by her hair from room to room, choked her, and told her he was going to kill her. And that’s just the short version of it. Hardy was arrested and found guilty by a judge, but he appealed the decision and got all charges dropped after Holder didn’t show up to court for the second trial. The NFL decided to do an investigation on their own and as a result, commissioner Roger Goodell decided to suspend Hardy for ten games this season, which was eventually reduced to four.

Now that Hardy’s officially back, everyone is curious to know how the whole domestic violence scandal and suspension have affected him. If you thought all that time off would cause him to have a change of heart, you thought wrong. The same arrogant and crass Greg Hardy, who refers to himself as The Kraken, is back like he never left and remains unapologetic about the actions that forced him off the field in the first place. He says he’s ready to “come out guns blazing” on Sunday against Tom Brady and the Patriots, and doesn’t care about much else…except maybe seeing Gisele Bündchen in the stands.

In an interview this week with the media, he was asked about how he’s fitting in with the Cowboys’ defense, his thoughts on playing against Tom Brady, and of course how he feels about the whole domestic violence situation that happened and what he’s learned over the past year.

On what he’s learned throughout the whole situation:

“I’m a really good pass rusher when I put my mind to it. I had a good offseason and a good camp.”

On whether or not he feels any remorse for what happened:

“I’m sorry I couldn’t be here for my teammates. The worst feeling is not being there for someone you care about or someone who needs you”. He reiterated that all of his focus is on getting sacks and tackles for losses.

On what he’s learned as a man:

“You should probably eat before you go to practice with Tyron Smith [Cowboys tackle]…that’s been my most valuable lesson as a man here.”

On Tom Brady:

“I love seeing Tom Brady. Have you seen his wife? I hope she comes to the game. I hope her sister comes to the game.”

And finally, when asked if he would speak out against domestic violence or help at a local shelter, all he had to say was that he’s sticking to the game plan.

What a stand up guy.. *Insert eye roll* You would think that someone who is lucky enough to get a second chance in the NFL would at least try to be a better person, but he’s made it quite clear he has not changed one bit. As expected, many people had strong opinions about Hardy’s interview, with most finding his comments obnoxious, disgusting, and troubling. Can’t say I disagree…this man clearly has not learned his lesson. And frankly, I don’t think he deserves a second chance.

Time to sound off…what do you think about Greg Hardy’s comments and how do you feel about his return to the NFL?
