Trina Braxton will be joining the daytime TV talk world as the newest panelist on TV One’s SisterCircle.
Hip Hollywood has learned exclusively that former host Kiana Dancie was fired from the show and will be replaced by Braxton. Without discussing Dancie’s dismissal, broadcasting company, Tegna, announced the change on Monday (Aug. 20).
Lisa Kridos, Tegna vice president of original programming and development, wrote in a statement saying, “From her musical roots as part of the legendary Braxton sisters and continuing to star with her famous family on Braxton Family Values, Trina brings a unique perspective to Sister Circle with her honest and candid perspective on relationships, motherhood, and managing it all.”\
Fans may have caught the drift since the statement only highlights Rashan Ali, Syleena Johnson and Quad WebLunceford as returning hosts. Ironically, Braxton has filled in as a guest host on several occasions.
In response to media outlets questions about the Dancie’s removal, the producers say they wanted to “move in a different direction for season 2.”
