Late last month, Flo Rida’s baby mama secured a major victory in their ongoing legal battle over paternity and child support of their son, Zohar.
At the time, according to Bossip, a Bronx family court agreed to give Alexis Adams a $1,000 increase, raising the rapper’s monthly payment to $9,000. In addition to that, Flo Rida was ordered to foot the bill for their son’s medical care, in light of his health problems, as well as his education.
Though both parties came to a consensus on the terms, Adams asked for a $2,000 increase, instead, and another $55k for her legal fees – a request the rapper and his legal team refused.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In docs obtained by the publication, the rapper’s lawyer asked a judge to reject his baby mama’s request for $10,000 a month to keep it at a low $9k. While Flo Rida agreed to cough up the cash for his son’s medical bills and education, his lawyer says he wants to have a say in what school Zohar is enrolled in to make sure the tuition is “reasonable.”
However, the request led to a swift response from the judge, who condemned the rapper for his selfish suggestions.
“What does he care,” Judge Shira Atzmon said at the time. “He’s not involved in this child’s life. He’s met him once. This is all about money, and I’ve had it up to here.”
As a result, the judge denied the rapper’s request to dismiss and ordered the two back to court in the fall. But, ahead of the hearing, Adams’ lawyer is calling out Flo Rida for his actions, calling his appeal “frivolous and downright mean.”
“Flo has asked his high power lawyers to appeal the Magistrate’s finding that the Family Court here in NYC does have jurisdiction and to try to knock out his obligation to support Zohar, who by the way has had a very tough time of it medically,” Jack Giordano told Bossip.
