House GOP launches Bad Bunny halftime show investigation after his historic Super Bowl LX performance, and now the culture war has officially entered the stadium.
Republican lawmakers are calling for a federal review of Bad Bunny’s halftime show, claiming parts of the broadcast crossed the line for primetime television. The performance aired February 8 during Super Bowl LX in Santa Clara and reportedly drew more than 130 million viewers, making it one of the most-watched halftime shows ever.
Rep. Andy Ogles of Tennessee sent a letter to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce urging an investigation into whether the NFL and NBCUniversal violated broadcast standards. Rep. Randy Fine of Florida also called for the Federal Communications Commission to examine the show and consider possible penalties.

They argue the choreography and lyrical themes were inappropriate for a family audience. Bad Bunny’s halftime show investigation centers on claims of indecency. The set featured a high-energy, Spanish-language performance that celebrated Puerto Rican culture and global Latin music. While some songs in his catalog contain explicit lyrics, the live broadcast edited out profanity. The NFL has not announced any fines or violations related to the show.
So far, the FCC has not publicly confirmed any enforcement action.
