So while the moment happened miles away from Los Angeles, his history with Billie Eilish still lingers.
Back in May 2020, Rousseau repeatedly showed up outside the singer’s home over a two-day stretch. Court records show he appeared seven times, ringing the bell, pacing outside, and refusing to leave even after being told he had the wrong address. He returned again later that same night. Security was called, but Rousseau did not move.
“While we waited for security, Mr. Rousseau remained on our porch, sat down, and began to read a book while also continuing to engage in a periodic monologue,” Eilish wrote in court documents. “My father repeatedly asked him to leave, but he refused.”
Because it happened during the pandemic, Eilish also told the court his behavior raised even more concern. She described his conduct as “erratic behavior.”
He was later arrested for trespassing, and a judge granted a three-year restraining order.
However, the situation did not stop there. Years later, Eilish secured another restraining order against a different man who allegedly sent threats and tracked down her address.
So while Rousseau’s death appears accidental, the past tied to his name still carries weight.
