Blxst may have built his career by staying locked in creatively, but these days, some of his most important moments are happening far away from the studio. During a recent appearance on The Baller Alert Show, the singer, rapper, songwriter, and producer opened up about balancing his music career with fatherhood and explained why being present for his son has become so important in his life.

When asked how he manages work, his personal life, and being a dad, Blxst admitted that he has spent much of his recent time at home.“I’ve been in father mode, like, which is a blessing, you know, to be able to go to my son’s basketball games,” Blxst said during the Baller Alert interview. “I’m the dad in the corner with the camera.”
Blxst also joked that his involvement does not stop at recording the action from the sidelines.
“I’m over there coaching the coaches. That’s me,” he added.
Still, Blxst acknowledged that finding balance means making room for the other parts of his life and career as well. He told Baller Alert that he feels he can be “a little more outside” after spending so much time isolated at home.
Blxst said he wants to “get back to the work more” while reconnecting with his community, fans, artists, and producers.
“Just creating that balance because I don’t want to just be one way,” he explained during the sit-down.
That balance comes during another major chapter in Blxst’s career. The South Central Los Angeles native developed his skills as both a rapper and producer before emerging as one of the city’s most versatile artists. His 2020 project “No Love Lost” helped expand his audience, while songs including “Chosen” with Ty Dolla $ign and Tyga became staples in his catalog.
Blxst also earned two Grammy nominations connected to Kendrick Lamar’s 2022 album “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers.” His work on “Die Hard,” alongside Lamar and Amanda Reifer, earned recognition in the Best Melodic Rap Performance category, while the album received an Album of the Year nomination.
His latest chapter arrived on June 12, 2026, with “Labor Of Love.” The 13-song project is Blxst’s second album, which he wrote and produced himself.
For Blxst, however, success does not appear to be limited to what happens on a record. His conversation with Baller Alert showed another side of the artist, one where showing up at a basketball game with a camera can matter just as much as showing up in the studio. As he works toward spending more time outside, collaborating, and connecting with fans, Blxst is also making it clear that fatherhood remains firmly in the picture.
