Dame Dash is making moves to settle his $800,000 legal battle with filmmaker Josh Webber. Court documents reveal Dash and his company, Poppington LLC, have started handing over film rights tied to the years-long lawsuit over the movie “Dear Frank.”
Webber claimed Dash falsely promoted himself as director and tried to sell the film under a different name after leaving the project. A judge sided with Webber and awarded over $800K in damages, ordering Dash to surrender business assets.
Webber’s legal team told the court Dash began complying but hasn’t delivered all necessary copyrights. Dash’s lawyer promised digital copies of “Honor Up” and “Too Honorable” by August 7th and pledged to handle the remaining documents by the same date.
Webber’s lawyers are now asking the court to cancel the July 31st hearing, expecting full compliance by August 8th.
In a recent interview with “The Art of Dialogue,” Dash downplayed the situation: “People celebrating my bills is an honor,” he said. “To me, any man who talks about another man’s pockets, regardless, is gay… I’ve always said, another man worrying about another man’s bills and pockets, it’s like worrying about what’s behind that man’s zipper.”
