It was announced on Friday that the Day N Vegas festival scheduled for Labor Day weekend has been canceled.
The festival was set to have big headliners, such as J. Cole, 21 Savage, Summer Walker, and SZA. It was slated to be Travis Scott’s first festival performance since the Astroworld tragedy last November.
Festival organizers attributed the cancelation to “logistics, timing, and production issues,” but according to sources familiar with the situation, that’s not the case. Sources tell Billboard the cancelation comes amid poor ticket sales.
The outlet reports that promoter Goldenvoice knew as soon as tickets went on sale that there would be an issue. The first-day sales goal was not met, and target sales were never reached in the following days.

By canceling, AEG is only on the hook for 50 percent of the artist fee. But according to Billboard, festival sales are down across the board in the second half of 2022. Day N Vegas isn’t the only event struggling to move tickets. Rolling Loud Miami, scheduled for later in July, still hasn’t sold out.
“There are a lot of festivals out there right now, and it seems like only those first festivals to go on sale for their sound or genre are the ones that sell out, but everything else that follows has struggled,” says one of the sources. “It seems like the consumer spent most of the festival money for the year, and unless it’s already on sale, there’s not much money left for anything else.”
