Thursday, U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian set a May 5, 2025, trial start date for Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs‘ sex trafficking case.
Combs, 54, pleaded not guilty last month to charges of sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution.
The charges stem from a federal investigation that accuses the Bad Boy founder of organizing coerced sexual acts, allegedly recorded during events referred to as “freak offs.” This criminal case is the most serious in a series of legal challenges that Combs has faced recently, including several civil lawsuits accusing him of sexual misconduct and assault.
Combs’ attorney, Erica Wolff, has strongly denied the allegations, stating that he “emphatically and categorically denies as false and defamatory any claim that he sexually abused anyone, including minors.” Marc Agnifilo, another lawyer for Combs, has also expressed confidence in his client’s defense, stating, “He’s going to fight this with all of his energy and all of his might.”
Some of the civil suits against Combs have been filed under New York City’s Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Act, which allows claims of sexual abuse to be brought forward after the statute of limitations has expired. While Combs has settled some cases, including one last year involving singer Casandra ‘Cassie’ Ventura, his legal team continues to deny any misconduct.
