Instagram is going to let its users know when it’s time to take a break from the app.

You might be staring at your Instagram screen a little too long, and now, the app is going to let you know when enough is enough. On Tuesday, Instagram launched its “Take a Break Tool,” which will encourage IG users to step away from the app after they’ve been scrolling for a certain amount of time, KMBC’s Samantha Murphy Kelly reports.

To turn the feature on, users would go to their “Settings,” where they will be able to choose from three different alert times: 10 minutes, 20 minutes or 30 minutes. After the time is up, they will be given suggestions for what to do after scrolling for their selected period of time, like taking a deep breath or writing something down.

Instagram’s head of safety, Vaishnavi J, says the feature will be fully developed by 2022, KMBC reports.

“While available to everyone, I think this tool is particularly important for teens to more fully understand what information they’ve shared on Instagram, what is visible to others, and to have an easier way to manage their digital footprint,” Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram, wrote in Tuesday’s blog post.

The feature was initially announced in September, and the rollout of the new feature comes just one day before Instagram is set to be questioned about its child safety practices. Users in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and Canada will be the first to try out the new feature.
