The L’Jarius Sneed story has taken an unexpected turn. The two‑time Super Bowl champion and cornerback for the Tennessee Titans has been indicted by a Dallas County grand jury in Texas on a misdemeanor charge of failure to report a felony.
According to the Associated Press, court records say the alleged incident occurred on December 6, 2024, when two men claim they were shot at from a Lamborghini Urus that Sneed and another man were in, while the victims were sitting inside a Mercedes‑Benz at a Carrollton vehicle dealership lot. No one was hit by the bullets, though the Mercedes and a nearby building were struck.
The indictment states Sneed observed the commission of a felony under circumstances where serious bodily injury or death could have resulted and knowingly failed to report it. The charge is a Class A misdemeanor, punishable by up to one year in county jail and/or a fine of $4,000.
The Titans, issued a brief statement: “We are aware of the legal matter with L’Jarius Sneed and have remained in contact with NFL security per league protocol. We will have no further comment during an ongoing investigation.”
Meanwhile a connected civil lawsuit had already been filed by the alleged victims seeking at least $1 million in damages, accusing Sneed and his personal assistant of “an unprovoked attack in cold blood and broad daylight.”
Prior to the indictment, Sneed joined the Titans in 2024 after a high‑profile trade from the Kansas City Chiefs, where he helped win back‑to‑back Super Bowls in 2022 and 2023.
