Marcus Jordan’s legal troubles have taken a turn after new drug test results revealed that the white powder found in his pocket during his DUI arrest was ketamine, not cocaine, TMZ Sports has learned.
Jordan, 34, was arrested on February 4 in Florida after allegedly driving under the influence and crashing into a property. Police initially field-tested the substance and got a positive reading for cocaine, but further analysis by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement determined it was actually ketamine, a Schedule III controlled substance.
While both drugs share a similar color and texture, ketamine can sometimes cause false positives for cocaine during rapid field tests, law enforcement sources said.
Jordan’s updated charges now include possession of ketamine, DUI with property damage, and resisting arrest. The State Attorney’s Office amended the drug charge but left all other charges unchanged. The distinction between ketamine and cocaine could work in Jordan’s favor, as cocaine is classified as a more serious Schedule II drug in Florida.
Following his arrest, Jordan entered a not guilty plea and has remained mostly silent about the incident.
