Mariah Carey has made it clear that she has no intention of discussing her ex-husband, Nick Cannon, publicly. During a CBS Mornings interview with Gayle King this week, the singer, 56, was asked about co-parenting her 14-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe.

Carey responded pointedly, saying, “I kind of feel like it’s best if I don’t talk about him, because he can just be in his own world. No offense to him.”
The pop icon and Cannon were married from 2008 until 2016 and welcomed their twins in 2011. Despite their divorce, both remain involved in their children’s lives while maintaining separate personal lives.
Carey has previously addressed co-parenting in interviews, including a July conversation with Harper’s Bazaar.
“How do I say this? They spend time with him, and they have a good time; they spend time with me, and they have a good time,” she said. She added, “I want to make sure I’m always fair about the situation because it’s tough to grow up with divorced parents.”
Even while keeping Cannon out of her public commentary, Carey continues to prioritize stability and love for her children. The twins have earned the nickname “dem kids,” which Carey and Cannon use when referring to them in interviews and social media posts.
By refusing to elaborate on Cannon, Carey sends a subtle message that she is fully focused on her kids and uninterested in dragging her ex.
