Megan Thee Stallion is officially moving from the rap game to the animation studio, but she isn’t letting online rumors define her debut.
The “Otaku Hot Girl” recently addressed a viral video from BlerDCon 2026 that many fans mistook for a first look at her upcoming Amazon Prime Video project, Hotties. The snippet featured an animated character with “twerking powers,” which some found fitting for her brand, but Megan was quick to correct the record on Sunday.
Taking to Twitter, the Houston artist explained that the footage is actually a scrapped concept from her 2022 “Traumazine” era.
“This is NOT a ‘sneak peek’ or a ‘snippet’ of my new anime ‘hotties’ …” she wrote, in response to a fan. “This clip was from a music video to my song gift and a curse I never put out… everybody RELAX y’all DO NOT know what my show looks like yet lol. I REPEAT THIS IS NOT A SNIPPET OF MY NEW ANIME!!”

While that specific clip won’t appear in the show, the actual series is making major strides. Teaming up with “The Boondocks” producer Carl Jones, Megan is aiming to deliver what she calls the “caviar of anime.” She previously teased that the show will feature “bad b***hes, fly clothes, and a**-whooping storytelling.” In a recent update to her followers, she confirmed she has already stepped into the recording booth to provide the voice for her lead character.
The anticipation for Hotties remains high as Megan continues to bridge the gap between hip-hop and nerd culture. Despite the confusion over the unreleased “Gift & A Curse” video, her commitment to high-quality, authentic storytelling suggests the real premiere will be a significant moment for Black representation in the genre.
As of early 2026, Hotties is still in active development. While an official release date hasn’t been announced, Megan told fans that seeing the project “finally coming to life” has been a dream come true, promising a series unlike anything currently on the market.
