Probation Status of Missing Carnival Cruise Passenger Raises Suspicions By Officials
The missing Carnival cruise passenger, Kevin McGrath, was on probation during his Bahamas trip, adding a new element to the case.
According to TMZ, McGrath pleaded guilty to aggravated assault in Tennessee in September 2022 following threats to his wife and children. As a result, he received a 6-year supervised probation sentence.
McGrath was also granted permission to move to Florida with his parents, which prompted him to take the cruise for his father’s 60th birthday. However, his probation officers claim he didn’t have permission to go on the cruise, and they only learned of it through media reports after he disappeared.
Court documents further show that McGrath is allegedly violating probation for not maintaining contact with his probation officer.
At this time, Authorities have been unable to reach him since the cruise, and his current location remains unknown.
According to reports, McGrath owes $241.20 in probation fees, hasn’t paid court fees, and went missing during the cruise return from the Bahamas.
He was last seen on September 3, when his family reported him missing after he missed breakfast. It was later found that his keycard was used to enter his room at 3:30 AM the next day.
Carnival staff and security searched the ship for McGrath, and the onboard overboard detection system didn’t signal any alert. Police found no evidence of him going overboard or any signs of his presence on the ship.
Uber Eats, Grubhub and DoorDash Must Pay Delivery Drivers $18 an Hour, Judge Rules
A judge has ruled that New York City can move forward with raising the minimum wage for food delivery drivers to $18.
Acting Supreme Court Justice Nicholas Moyne ruled that drivers could now get a pay boost. Delivery companies Uber, Grubhub, and DoorDash have fought against the pay increase. In July, they sued New York City after the municipality ruled to implement a steep pay increase for food delivery employees. This led to a temporary injunction over the ruling. However, on Thursday, Judge Moyne decided that the city’s 65,000 delivery employees will indeed see pay increases. Uber, Grubhub, and DoorDash will now have to pay their drivers accordingly starting next year.
Most delivery workers who drive for apps are contractors, meaning they do not get health benefits or paid time off. In New York City, many immigrants who are unable to obtain traditional jobs turn to ride-share and delivery companies to make a living. However, the three delivery apps argued that a higher wage mandate would impact customers, who will likely be hit with higher prices when requesting food deliveries. Nevertheless, worker activists are pleased with the ruling.
“Multi-billion dollar companies cannot profit off the backs of immigrant workers while paying them pennies in New York City and get away with it. The judge’s ruling is another reminder that workers will always win,” Ligia Guallpa, the director of the New York-based Workers Justice Project.
The delivery apps must choose between paying workers $17.96 hourly without tips. Or, they can pay drivers $0.50 per minute of active time. They already use an active minute formula, so it’s likely they will build onto this method.
Sources Say Jeezy and Jeannie Mai Are Still Living Together Despite Divorce Filing
Despite going through a divorce, sources say Jeezy and Jeannie Mai are still living under the same roof.
A source told TMZ that the estranged couple are living in their Georgia home amid their divorce, which has caused anxiety and tension.
It was previously reported that Mai had moved both her mother and brother into the home.
News broke at the beginning of the month that Jeezy had filed for divorce after two and a half years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences.
Mai was reportedly blindsided by the filing, COMPLEX reported, adding that the rapper and the former The Real co-host have been trying to have little interaction with one another while coparenting their daughter Monaco, 1.
Real Housewives of Potomac Alum Monique Samuels and Chris Samuels Officially Divorced
Reality star Monique Samuels and Chris Samuels are officially single. The former couple finalized their divorce on Monday.
The two got married in March 2012 and share three children together: Milani, 8, and sons Christopher, 10, and Chase, 4.
Monique officially filed for divorce in June, PEOPLE reported. However, a spokesperson for the court told Page Six that Monique had actually filed a complaint for absolute divorce in April and then later filed an amended complaint on June 15.
The two got married in 2012. It was during their time on Love & Marriage: D.C. that they were having some marital problems, and also during season four of RHOP.
Just last year, in October, sources were saying that the two had separated, a claim Monique denied in a YouTube video.
“It’s no secret that Chris and I have been struggling in some areas of our marriage and anybody who watched ‘Love & Marriage: D.C.’ last year, y’all saw the arguments, y’all saw everything that was going on,” the mother of three said, adding that they were “absolutely not” separating.
“Are Chris and I getting a divorce? No! We aren’t getting a divorce,” she declared. “Are we going our separate ways? Absolutely not, nobody said that. Have we filed a legal separation? No. Have we filed for divorce? No. Is there any document that proves any divorce filings? No. Have we separated to the extent of breaking up? No.”
Couple Sues Disney After Allegedly Experiencing “Painful Wedgie” Due to Waterslide
This is something you don’t hear often. Disney World is being sued over a wedgie. A couple has filed a lawsuit against the company after a woman suffered injuries on one of the resort’s Typhoon Lagoon attractions.
According to the complaint obtained by Entertainment Weekly, Emma and Edward McGuinness seek $50,000 in damages stemming from injuries that the former allegedly suffered during an October 2019 visit to the water park.
The plaintiff claims for her 30th birthday, she visited Typhoon Lagoon while wearing a one-piece bathing suit. During her ride on the Humunga Kowabunga slide, which consists of three body tubes totaling 214 feet in length, she says she suffered vaginal lacerations.
The Complaint acknowledges that riders are instructed to cross their legs and ankles during the ride, but the McGuinnesses failed to instruct on why that was necessary.
“The impact of The Slide and [Emma’s] impact into the standing water at the bottom of The Slide caused Ms.McGuinness’ clothing to be painfully forced between her legs and for water to be violently forced inside her,” the suit reads, adding that Emma was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and later had to undergo surgery to repair gynecologic injuries after “she experienced immediate and severe pain internally and, as she stood up, blood began rushing from between her legs.”
The McGuinness’ suit categorizes the experience as a “painful wedgie” and alleges that she “suffered severe and permanent bodily injury including severe vaginal lacerations, a full thickness laceration causing Plaintiff’s bowel to protrude through her abdominal wall, and damage to her internal organs.”
Ms Jacky Oh’s Death Was Caused By Surgery Complications, Coroner Confirms
Months after Jacklyn “Jacky Oh” Smith‘s death, an autopsy report confirmed what many already suspected.
The popular influencer died due to complications from cosmetic surgery, the Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner wrote in its report. In May, Smith traveled to Miami with her aunt to undergo surgery by Dr. Zachary Okhah. In a now-deleted Instagram post, Smith told her fans that she would be getting a “mommy makeover.” According to the medical examiner’s report, she’d received a Brazilian Butt Lift, with fat being transferred to her butt from her stomach. Smith had been prescribed Ciprofloxacin, an antibiotic, Oxycodone for pain, and Ondansetron to treat post-surgery nausea, TMZ stated.
However, she soon complained of a headache during her post-operative appointment and was told by the surgeon’s office to stop taking Ondansetron. She also received a massage during that appointment. Things took a turn, and on May 31st, Smith described a “burning” sensation in her head and began having a hard time speaking. Her aunt called 911. By the time they arrived, Smith was unconscious and was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
Additionally, Smith had swelling on her brain and excessive bleeding around her torso area. What may have caused Smith to have complications after the operation is unknown. The manner of death was ruled an accident.
Dr. Okhah did not address Smith’s death but did release a video statement after receiving social media backlash. He maintained that his office was safe for all patients.
Smith and comedian DC Youngfly share three children. He has not yet commented on the findings of the autopsy report.
Michael Oher Freed From His Conservatorship That He Initially Thought Was An Adoption
Michael Oher has finally been freed from the conservatorship set forth by the Tuohy’s.
On Friday, Shelby County Probate Court Judge Kathleen Gomes terminated the conservatorship, which Oher once believed was an adoption into the Tuohy family, per People. Instead, the arrangement allowed Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy to benefit from Oher’s finances, specifically the money made from his life story, which inspired the hit movie, “The Blind Side.” Even with the agreement being tossed, Judge Gomes said she would not dismiss the lawsuit that Oher brought against the Tuohy’s.
Oher has sued the couple, whom he moved in with as a teenager, claiming they have hidden millions from him. The former Baltimore Ravens player says the couple have used his name and likeness to keep the money flowing in even after the movie’s release. Both have worked as a motivational speaker, with Sean owning several fast food restaurants such as Taco Bell and KFC. According to the 2004 agreement, the Tuohy’s obtained “all powers of attorney to act on his behalf.” Oher was “not be allowed to enter into any contracts or bind himself without the direct approval of his conservators.” Alcon Entertainment, the company that produced “The Blind Side,” says the four members of the immediate Tuohy family and Oher were paid a collective $767,000. However, Sean previously told the Daily Memphian that the family made no money from the film besides $14,000 payments each.
During the hearing, Gomes says she was shocked that Oher was placed in such a conservatorship, especially since he had not been disabled at the time of its signing, further supporting Oher’s claim that he had no idea what he was truly signing.
“I cannot believe it got done,” the judge stated. Neither Oher nor the Tuohy’s spoke during the hearing.
J. Cole Seemingly Responds to NBA YoungBoy’s Diss
J. Cole and NBA Youngboy’s verbal sparing may not have been on your 2023 Bingo board. However, here we are.
Back in May, NBA YoungBoy dropped the single ‘F*ck The Industry,’ where he seemingly dissed multiple artists and he took a shot at Fayetteville native J Cole.
“J a ho, that n*gga played it cold like he was gon’ do a feature, so I texted the muscle sign, I swear it’s gon’ be nice to meet you,” Youngboy rapped in the first verse of the viral song.
Now it seems as if Cole found the time to respond with a verse of his own, arguably his best of the year on Lil Yachty’s ‘The Secret Recipe.’
Cole raps, “N*ggas making threats and I laugh, that’s ’cause you ain’t a threat… Don’t ask how I feel ’bout no rappers, s*** they okay, I guess… Incomin’ call, press the button, the one that say accept, he FaceTimed to ask for a feature and saw the face of death.”
“My paper stretch just like a Laker, before he break a sweat,” Cole rapped on The Recipe and that line seemingly sums this beef up perfectly.
These two are creating music for their fans in two different walks of life. Trying to continue to make money and be impactful within the community. Is it rap beef or just the competitive nature of the sport? Either way, it’s got fans from both sides going back and forth on social media.
Be sure to check out J. Cole’s verse below.

After much discourse online, Cole’s manager took to X to address fans’ interpretations.
“I’m pretty sure this is [cap],” he said, responding to a post about the diss. “Not sure how y’all heard that cole verse and put that together, impressive.”

Lizzo Requests Dismissal of Former Dancers’ Lawsuit
Lizzo wants her former employee’s lawsuits tossed out, denying all of their allegations.
On Wednesday, Lizzo’s attorneys filed a response to the claim brought forth by her former backup dancers, Crystal Williams, Arianna Davis, and Noelle Rodriguez. Their lawsuit named the singer, her company, Big Grrrl Big Touring, Inc., and dance captain, Shirlene Quigley. In her response, Lizzo said their suit should be tossed because the women are flat-out lying. Specifically, the “Truth Hurts” star said none of the three women “have sustained any injury or loss by reason of any act or omission.”
“This is the first step of a legal process in which Lizzo and her team will demonstrate that they have always practiced what they’ve preached – whether it comes to promoting body positivity, leading a safe and supportive workplace, or protecting individuals from any kind of harassment,” a spokesperson for Lizzo shared with Variety.
The ex-dancers sued Lizzo in August, accusing her and her company of creating a toxic workplace that includes racism, fat shaming, sexual harassment, disability discrimination, and even religious discrimination. Among the many shocking revelations, the most stunning was that Lizzo allegedly pushed the women to attend a live sex show in Europe and even egged them on to eat a banana from the private area of one of the performers.
Lizzo is also battling another lawsuit with costume designer Asha Daniels. She designed looks on the singer’s tour last year, and while Daniels wasn’t side-by-side with Lizzo, she did work closely with her wardrobe supervisor, Amanda Nomura. Daniels claims Nomura used racially offensive language and would call the singers “fat” and “dumb.” Lizzo has denied these accusations as well.
Nevertheless, none of this stopped the star from receiving the Black Music Action Coalition’s Quincy Jones Humanitarian Award last week.
Las Vegas Police Arrest Duane “Keefe D” Davis In Connection To Tupac Shakur’s Murder
In a stunning twist, Las Vegas police have arrested a man in connection to the murder of Tupac Shakur.
Duane “Keefe D” Davis, who has been the subject of suspicion for years over his involvement in Shakur’s death, was taken into custody Friday morning. Davis has previously admitted to being in the vehicle with the shooter when the shots were fired at Shakur on September 13, 1996. Though, he has always stopped short of naming the person who pulled the trigger. The fatal drive-by shooting on the Las Vegas Strip has frustrated investigators, Shakur’s loved ones, and fans for years.
Many theories have swirled surrounding the murder. However, the stories involving Davis were the only ones that seemed to stick, but there was not enough evidence in years prior. In July, police raided a home in Vegas owned by Davis. However, they have remained quiet about what led them there and what they located during the search that has since led to his arrest. In his 2019 book, “Compton Street Legend,” Davis detailed Shakur’s final moments.
“Tupac made an erratic move and began to reach down beneath his seat. It was the first and only time in my life that I could relate to the police command, ‘Keep your hands where I can see them.’ Instead, Pac pulled out a strap, and that’s when the fireworks started. One of my guys from the back seat grabbed the Glock and started bustin’ back,” he wrote.
Hours before he was killed, Shakur and his entourage had a physical altercation with Orlando Anderson, Davis’s nephew. Anderson was killed in 1998.
As of now, Davis’s exact charges remain unknown, but the latest development will surely spark the interest of social media and web sleuths everywhere.
Report: Damian Lillard Desired to Remain With Trailblazers If Heat Move Failed, But Was Turned Away
One of the top sports stories in the last 24 hours involves Damian Lillard, who requested a trade in June and has now joined Milwaukee. Joe Cronin, the General Manager of the Portland Trailblazers, gained increased media attention following an article by Chris Haynes on the Portland team’s tumultuous summer, especially after the trade became official.
Haynes revealed that Cronin and the Blazers had not spoken with the Miami Heat since summer league, mainly due to the Heat’s unsatisfactory offer of Tyler Herro and draft picks in exchange for Damian Lillard. Despite the Heat’s attempts to arrange an in-person meeting with Portland during their time in Vegas, it failed to materialize. Meanwhile, Portland publicly stated their intention to accept the most favorable trade offer. Simultaneously, Dame’s agent, Aaron Goodwin, communicated with other NBA teams if they traded for Dame, he would not play.
“How this summer played out definitely left a sour taste in my mouth,” Lillard told Bleacher Report.
The NBA got involved to shut down Goodwin’s comments. Reports indicate that at the start of September, the Blazers halted all communication with Lillard and Goodwin, electing to figure out the situation in-house. It was the only way they felt they could keep Goodwin from affecting the deals from behind the scenes. Goodwin communicated on September 5th that Lillard, himself, and Cronin should get together to mend the fence as training camp was less than a month away, and the conversations with the Heat were nonexistent.
Reports have emerged suggesting that Damian Lillard was requested to sit out the final ten games of the season, with the assurance that a better draft pick would facilitate finding a suitable trade partner to pair with Dame. Of course, that did not happen. During a meeting at Lillard’s home, he expressed his desire to rescind his trade request and remain with Portland if he couldn’t join Miami. However, Cronin told him there was no turning back and he would not be welcomed back this upcoming season.
Shocked and hurt, with good reason. Dame’s loyalty in Portland ran so deep it was foreign to get cold shoulder treatment from the organization that he bled and sweated for. However though, its important to keep in mind that throughout the summer, when you request a trade, it’s unrealistic to expect that everyone will maintain the same level of camaraderie with you or your agent by the end of the season.
Indeed, the business side of sports can sometimes cast someone in the role of the “bad guy.” It’s a reality that comes with the territory. Oftentimes, those who make tough decisions are eventually recognized for their success, and people reflect on the consequences of the initial trade.
As Lillard and Cronin go their separate ways it’ll be an interesting season in Portland and Milwaukee.
California Increases Minimum Wage for Fast Food Workers to $20 an Hour
California has passed a new law guaranteeing fast-food workers a minimum wage of $20 per hour and giving them a stronger voice in setting workplace standards.
During an event in Los Angeles, Governor Gavin Newsom emphasized California’s role as a pioneer, saying, “The future happens here first.”
The legislation resulted from a compromise in which fast-food companies dropped their 2024 referendum to repeal a law meant to improve employee wages and working conditions.
Labor unions withdrew their bid to make fast-food corporations responsible for franchisee violations.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, in 2022, the median U.S. fast-food worker earned $13.43 per hour, with Californian workers making an average of $16.60 per hour.
Starting in April, the new minimum wage will amount to an annual salary of $41,600.
California has more than 550,000 fast-food workers at 30,000 locations. Contrary to the stereotype of teenage employees, most of them are family breadwinners. Additionally, 80% are minorities, and two-thirds are women, according to Governor Newsom.
“We’re not just about growth,” he said. “This state is about inclusion.”
The law creates a “Fast Food Council” with worker and employer representatives, granting them the power to approve more wage increases and establish workplace standards. Labor leaders consider this a historic achievement.
California’s general minimum wage stands at $15.50 per hour, one of the highest in the nation. In contrast, the federal minimum wage has remained at $7.25 per hour, equivalent to $15,080 annually for a full-time 40-hour workweek, and has not been adjusted since 2009.
Soulja Boy’s Ex-GF Requesting A Seizure of The Rapper’s Assets to Collect $500K Debt
Soulja Boy’s ex-girlfriend, Kayla Myers, is asking the courts to have LAPD officers enter the rapper’s home and seize his assets to settle the $472k debt he owes her.
According to RadarOnline.com, Soulja Boy is responsible for paying the six-figure debt after losing a lawsuit that claims he assaulted Myers at a 2019 house party.
During the trial, Myers revealed that Soulja Boy testified to owning a collection of high-end exotic cars, including a yellow Bentley, a red Lamborghini, a Dodge Charger Hellcat, and a yellow Mercedes-Benz.
Additionally, Soulja Boy stated that he possessed a diamond-studded “Soulja Boy” neck chain valued at $10k and a black Cartier watch worth $8k. He is also said to have several other jewelry pieces and chains that he did not disclose during his trial testimony.
Myers asserted that Soulja Boy keeps substantial amounts of cash, often in backpacks, and frequently shares photos on Instagram.
She has requested the court to grant authorization for the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department to enter Soulja’s residence and confiscate his assets as part of the collection process.
As previously reported by RadarOnline, Soulja Boy has requested the court to reconsider the $500k judgment against him.
He claimed the $236k punitive damages were excessive, citing financial challenges like a $1 million tax lien, no real property, pandemic-related job losses, and decreased income from his earlier success. He did mention renting a $25k-a-month home and earning up to $50k per show before expenses.
However, according to Myers, Soulja Boy could “simply liquidate just the Lamborghini and Bentley and clear out the whole judgment entirely. He’ll still have his Mercedes-Benz and Dodge Hellcat to drive; he’ll still be able to live in his $25,000 per month mansion and keep all of his other valuable assets.”
Britney Spears Insists Knives in Viral Dancing Video are Fake Following Wellness Check: “No One Needs to Worry or Call the Police”
Britney Spears assured her fans not to worry after the police conducted a wellness check due to her recent videos featuring what she now says were fake knives.
“I know I spooked everyone with the last post, but these are fake knives that my team rented from Hand Prop shop in LA,” she wrote on Instagram Thursday.
“These are not real knives. No one needs to worry or call the police. I’m trying to imitate one of my favorite performers, Shakira … a performance I was inspired by !!!” she added.
“Cheers to us bad girls who aren’t afraid to push boundaries and take risks!” she concluded.
Police conducted a wellness check on Britney Spears following a tip from someone close to her, as confirmed by Page Six.
Captain Dean Worthy from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, who has prior experience handling incidents related to the pop star, responded to the call.
“Somebody close to Britney had seen the video posted on social media, where she’s dancing and twirling with knives in her hands, and they were really concerned for her mental well-being,” Worthy said.
When officers arrived at Britney Spears’ home in Thousand Oaks, California, they communicated with her security team through the intercom.
According to police, the security team said Spears was “fine” and “nothing was going on.”
Worthy said, “They didn’t want to let the officer in to see her physically.”
Home Depot Asserts Surveillance Footage Invalidates Tyrese’s Claims in $1M Racial Profiling Lawsuit, Tyrese Resonds
Home Depot is refuting Tyrese Gibson’s racism claims in his $1 million lawsuit, citing video evidence in their response to his allegations against their cashiers.
According to Home Depot’s legal documents, Tyrese had items scanned at the cash register but then left for additional shopping, causing a 25-minute delay, which forced the cashier to clear his transaction.
Still, Tyrese asserts that a computer glitch was responsible for the delay, which made him uncomfortable as people started recognizing him. This discomfort led him to leave for the parking lot instead of staying to oversee the transaction.
Tyrese claimed he told the cashier his assistants would complete the purchase, but Home Depot disputes this, saying their surveillance footage doesn’t show any face-to-face conversation with their cashiers.
However, previously, Tyrese said he FaceTimed a cashier to authorize the transaction, but she insisted on seeing his ID in person before accepting payment from his partners.
According to Home Depot, the cashier requested a physical ID from Tyrese and insisted FaceTime wouldn’t suffice. Surveillance footage shows Tyrese returning to the store, having a heated discussion, and eventually presenting his ID before the transaction was completed.
Tyrese had reservations about suing Home Depot, a store he considers his “Disneyland” due to his long-time patronage. Home Depot, on the other hand, couldn’t provide any details on his shopping history and spending,
Eary Friday, Tyrese responded to Home Depot’s claims, calling the company’s co-founder a Trump supporter.
“He was one of Trump’s largest donors, giving $7 million to his campaign. When Marcus announced in 2019 that he would financially support the Donald Trump 2020 presidential campaign, it triggered calls for a boycott of Home Depot even though Marcus was no longer with the company. Overall he has donated 64 million to the overall Republican Party…. Mr Bernie Marcus……. Knock knock…… Who’s there…. Black and brown culture who you and your cashiers treated like shit….”
He also shared an official statement on his Instagram account.
September 29, 2023
Eric Mora, Manuel Hernandez and I are 100% committed to taking a stand against The Home Depot in defense of our own civil rights and the civil rights of all who have been subjected to discriminatory practices and consumer racial profiling. The Home Depot and its team of attorneys seek to deny our claims, gaslighting… Trying to legally bully us and silence our voices as reflected in their most recent court filing. But we will not back down. We will use all of our energy to correct the conduct of the company, in service of the broader goal of a shared future free from discrimination.
Speaking UP ans speaking OUT against blatant racism and discrimination is nothing new for me….. I would never ever thing this would happen to me at Home Depot…. 20+ years and this is the fucking thanks we get…..
