Rapper Pooh Shiesty has been released from federal prison after serving approximately three years.
He had been serving a 63-month sentence for conspiracy to possess firearms in connection with violent and drug-related crimes, stemming from a 2020 incident in Florida.
The Memphis artist, best known for his breakout single “Back in Blood” featuring Lil Durk, had his release reported on October 6, 2025, months ahead of the originally scheduled date in April 2026.
Shiesty is now residing in a halfway house as he adjusts back to life outside of prison and begins reintegrating into society.
His legal issues date back to 2020, when he was involved in a shooting at a Florida hotel. In 2023, he pleaded guilty to a firearms conspiracy charge, which helped reduce the potential length of his sentence. His time in a high-security Pennsylvania prison is now behind him, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
The rapper’s early release has sparked speculation among fans about upcoming music. It is common for artists to release new tracks or freestyles soon after leaving prison, and many are eager to hear what Shiesty has in store.
His return presents a chance to reignite his career and reconnect with his audience after time away from the spotlight.
